This article shares two ways to add public chains in Firefox.
Manual Addition#
First is method one: manual addition. First, open the "Add Network" page.
Popular Public Chains in Firefox#
It displays some popular public chains. If the public chain you want to add is in this list, you can directly click "Add".
Here, let's take adding Arbitrum One as an example. Clicking will display a popup window showing the information of the public chain. Click "Approve" to add it successfully.
Then it automatically redirects to the homepage and prompts whether to switch to the newly added network.
Non-popular Public Chains in Firefox#
If not, click "Manually Add Network" at the bottom. You will see that a lot of information needs to be filled in. The documentation of most public chains will provide these. Here, let's take adding BSC public chain as an example. First, find the public chain information provided by the BSC official website, and fill in the information one by one.
Then click "Save" and it will prompt that the addition is successful and the current public chain has switched to the added one.
Adding Using Chainlist#
Next is method two: adding using Chainlist. First, open https://chainlist.org/ and search for the network you want to add. Here, let's take adding zkSync Era testnet as an example, and click the "Connect Wallet" button.
Click "Next".
Click "Connect".
Once connected successfully, you will see the information of the network to be added. Click "Approve".
It will prompt whether to switch to the current network. At this point, the addition is successful.
Manual Addition vs Chainlist Addition#
Manual Addition: Completely manually filled, high flexibility, not optimized for beginners in terms of finding information; this method is more suitable for developers.
Chainlist: Complete public chain information, simple and fast addition operation. More user-friendly for most users.
Summary#
You can first check if the corresponding information exists in Chainlist. If found, you can directly add and use it.
