Exchange $MIRA for $USDT or other valuable coins.

Preface#

This article is not a tutorial, but a showcase of the 1 MIRA reward I received from @xlog in the article Introduction to Blockchain - Creating Your First Wallet with MetaMask a while ago.

Why am I writing another article when there is already a conversion tutorial provided by the official? The official tutorial is sufficient for friends who understand blockchain, but for many friends who have just started with blockchain, it may be a bit confusing, as you can see from the comments on the article.

Conversion#

This article uses the MetaMask plugin wallet as the blockchain wallet.

Prerequisites for Conversion#

  • Polygon chain and Crossbell chain need to be added to MetaMask.
  • The Crossbell chain wallet has $MIRA and $CSB.
  • The Polygon chain wallet has $MATIC.

$CSB and $MATIC are needed as gas fees for transactions in the blockchain. This is because every transaction in the blockchain requires gas fees.

Why do we need to operate on two websites?#

There are several ways to exchange coins:

  1. Find someone to exchange with (not recommended, high risk, you may not be able to find the person after they receive your coins).
  2. Deposit to an exchange and then withdraw (requires exchange support for public chains and tokens, withdrawal fees apply).
  3. Use a swap dapp (requires paying transaction fees).

Knowing the above ways to exchange coins, let's see how to exchange $MIRA:
First, method 1 is not recommended, so skip it.
Method 2 currently does not have any exchanges that support depositing $MIRA.
So, only method 3 is left. However, there is no swap dapp on the Crossbell chain either. At this time, a bridge is needed to cross-chain $MIRA to another public chain before exchanging.

The above are some conceptual things that help understand why the process of exchanging coins feels a bit cumbersome.

Cross-Chain#

Use https://mira.crossbell.io/ to cross-chain $MIRA from the Crossbell chain to the Polygon chain.

Connect Wallet#

image

  • Click "Connect Wallet"
  • Select MetaMask
  • Select your wallet
  • Click "Connect"

Cross-Chain#

image

  • Switch to "SWAP OUT"
  • Enter the amount
  • Click "Swap $MIRA"

Cross-chain includes the following steps:

  • Authorize the specified amount of tokens (the amount is the actual amount to be exchanged)

The operation is shown in the following figure

  • Execute the cross-chain

  • Switch public chain

  • Withdraw

Just follow the prompts step by step. The above only shows part of the steps. The successful execution page is shown below.

View transaction records (the status here is pending, but the actual transfer to the Polygon chain has been successful).

Conversion#

Open Uniswap for conversion.

Connect Wallet, Switch Current Public Chain#

Fill in Conversion Information#

And enter the amount to be converted, select the currency to be converted, and select the currency after conversion.

Authorization and conversion are also required.

The conversion is successful as shown in the following figure.
